We
are basking in lovely spring weather in Paris.
Our time in Vietnam seems far away, although the
memories are still very strong. I have finally
got around to writing a paragraph of praise
for the service you provided us. You will find
it at :
We
live in Paris
and chose Vietnam as a destination for the
outward leg of a visit to family in New
Zealand. Our special interest is ethnic
diversity (which does not exclude gourmet eating
and appreciating the countryside). Most of the
agencies we contacted offered a standard tour
ending for the most part in Halong
Bay. This not being our cup of tea, we asked
them to customize the itinerary. The agency
which best did this for us was Hand
in Hand Travel & Tours. The manager, Mr.
Nguyen Ngoc Dung (pronounced Dzung), agreed
to a number of changes and deleted Halong. Not
only that, but he assigned us an ethnic H'mong
guide named Vung, who turned out to be young,
witty and knowledgeable. The trip went
beautifully, despite some low cloud and
washed-out roads. Some places were completely
off the tourist track. Ethnic variety, fine food
and multiple toasts of fiery corn liquor! Mr
Dung works out of his Ladybird Restaurant in
Hanoi Old Town. We can highly recommend him.

How are you doing ? And your family
? Are the kids back to school ?
We arrived well in Belgium. We were
all tired and the weather was bad.
We went back to work the next day
and it was very hard.
The kids went to school again on
the 1st of September and have to study
hard.
We really want to thank you for the
wonderful trip you arranged for us.
We had a fantastic time in Vietnam.

Dear mister Dzung;
As promised we (Mr and Mrs
v.Gorkom and Mrs. and Mrs Brandt) should let you
know about our voyage continuation through
Vietnam and Cambodian.
First; Your guides and bus drivers
in every place,(airfield, boat terminal etc) in
time and easy to recognize.
Second; good to excellent
performances by same guides and bus drivers.
Third; Hotels, no comments as they
were good, mostly centered in midtown so no long
walks to (close by) shopping centers or tourist
attractions.
Fourth; Flights and boat trips
correctly organized, with Ha Long Bay as summit.
Fifth; Train trips to and from
Sapa,as discussed, to your best possibility
rescheduled
Six; We changed some attractions
from the English tour version to our Dutch
version which was accepted without a
problem.(Vietcong tunnels, Killing fields etc.)
Seven; rest period in Sihanoukville
worth while.
Eight; All attractions interesting
and beautiful.
So we look back at a beautiful and
very interesting voyage, which was perfectly
organized by your organization.
We thank you in particular also for
the spontaneous invitation to your restaurant
which we enjoyed..
We will recommend your travel and
tours organization to our friends and all people
with the intention to visit Vietnam and
Cambodia.

Point of attention
When leaving Batambang to be
shipped by speedboat to Siem Riep we were
correctly dropped by your Guide and bus driver
at the pick-up station in order to be
transferred by car (pickup) to the
speedboat as the river was very dry and the boat
could not meet us in Batambang.
As the only available pick-up car
was already loaded with cargo, luggage and 15
people, we honestly did not see how we could
join that party
Without risking our lives and/or
losing our luggage.
As the boat company did not change
their mind and we had to join, we decided not to
do so, to be safe, and ordered an other pick-up,
which was standby, paid 25 dollar by ourselves,
went underway.
I tell you this because in doing so
it may be quite easy for those people to do this
every time and so earning extra money.
It may be advisable that your guide
keep track of this situation or that you arrange
a pick-up truck yourself in the dry season.
I in particular, as safety was
part of my job, have safety standards high
Do not see this as criticism but as a point
of follow-up(attention).
Back in our house in
the Netherlands we remember we made in Cambodia
and Vietnam a very pleasant trip. We thank you
very much for organizing our stay in the
hotels. In general the hotels were very nice.
Thank you for booking our flights. We remember
our meals and your company in your very tasty
restaurant where we had many nice hour.
First of all let me say hallo to
you and thank you again for the excellent tour
that you and Teresa Phong Nhi Pham (from Rome
-Italy) prepared for us (we were
4:Cardinali,Frau,Grego,Martinori) in Vietnam and
Cambodia last February.
It was the last New Year's Eve and
you also invited us for dinner at your
restaurant of Ladybird
Everything was great,
Great! Thank you again and hope to
see you next time in Vietnam.
P.S.Do you also prepare tour in Mongolia? We are
going to visit Mongolia the last two weeks of
July 08.
